Inclusivity
-
I strive to create and maintain an inclusive environment that all people can feel comfortable in, and support it behind the scenes with products and partnerships that benefit the Earth and other human beings.
I believe that hair is hair no matter who it’s attached to. I am dedicated to creating, and maintaining, an inclusive environment for all people; particularly those in the LGBTQA+ communities who may still be seeking out a salon environment that fits them. Since I am in a private suite, the space that we’re in together can be completely shielded from outside view if requested for religious, personal, or other reasons. It’s important to me that you’re comfortable in my space so I encourage you to share the pronouns you want me to use. My pronouns are she/her.
To reflect my belief that hair is hair, my service menu is gender neutral and pricing is based instead on the cost of products, the time needed to apply and process, as well as my years of experience.

In general, I prefer not to discuss these behind the chair.
My personal stance is that most religions claim to be for treating each other with kindness and respect, and I don’t feel that I need to be aligned with one specific deity in order to live my life treating others with kindness and respect.
I believe that Black Lives Matter, Trans lives matter, everybody deserves an education, a living wage, and the opportunity to grow. I will never choose profit over people.
If my values don’t align with yours, we may not be a good fit behind the chair, and I encourage you to find someone who may be a better fit for you.

A Wild Colorist Appears is proud to be registered with Strands for Trans, a website designed to help any member of the LGBTQ+ community find salon environments they can feel safe and comfortable in.
If my salon isn’t close enough to you, please be sure to visit the Strands for Trans website to find a salon close to you. If you have a salon you think should be on that list, tell them to register themselves too!
Sustainability and recycling program

I'm incredibly proud to have partnered with Green Circle Salons. Not only will this allow us to collect and find new life for up to 95% of the waste created in our salon, we can also collect and dispose of PPE like disposable masks and gloves. In the salon I collect the hair, excess color, wax sticks, processing caps, foils, color tubes and bottles, developer bottles, and just about anything else that gets used behind the chair. That even includes the empty products that I use on you when we style your hair.
I can also safely dispose of a number of other items, please click here to see what else I can take for you and don't forget to check out the recycling program!

After recycling 3 full size items with me, you get 10% off your next retail or service investment. That's it, that's all you need to do.
10 Travel size containers = 1 full size product | 1 hair tool = 1 full size product
While I encourage you to recycle as many items as you can, you can't earn more than 10% in one visit. If you bring in 2 items on one visit it will be noted and you will earn your 10% when you bring in the third item. If you bring in 6 items in one visit you can redeem your 10% right away or save it for later, however if you choose to save it you cannot increase the percentage off your next investment by recycling additional items.

PPE! Disposable masks and gloves that you use during your day to day activities can be brought with you to your salon appointment and deposited into my PPE collection box, which will go back to Green Circle when it’s full.
Your plastic grocery bags!
Your outdated or broken home styling tools!
Empty aerosol cans!
Empty salon product bottles! Plastics #1-7 are all able to be processed by Green Circle.

Masks are generally encouraged, and required if you're experiencing cold-like symptoms. I reserve the right to ask you to wear a mask, and I do have single-use masks available. If you have a fever or been too sick to go to work/school/etc., you will be required to reschedule your appointment.
Appointments canceled or rescheduled due to illness are generally not subject to cancelation fees. Please discuss with me as soon as you start experiencing symptoms. Anybody caught abusing this part of the policy can lose the ability to book future appointments.
If I feel anything less than perfect, I will be wearing my mask behind the chair. I am also more than happy to wear a mask upon request if I am not already wearing it.

In general, the prices are what they are. A number of things go into the determination of prices including the cost of my supplies and materials, the cost of my time based on my education and experience, and the cost of making sure that waste is recycled properly.
I am happy to work within your budget to create a transformation we’re both happy with, and this is a big part of why my color prices are hourly. This makes sure we’re both on the same page when it comes to what can be achieved based on the resources we have to work with.

I know that sometimes you need to style your hair yourself to get the full effect, so I will make a complimentary adjustment on your haircut when notified within 7 days. Adjustments on colors are done on a case by case basis, but if I have made an error, you don’t pay for my mistakes.
I also know that sometimes you need to use the products for a few weeks to really get to know them, and sometimes you learn that it isn’t a good match for you. When notified within 30 days, you are welcome to return or exchange for another product.
I try to be understanding and always give the benefit of the doubt. However, in the event that my return policy is being taken advantage of, you may be barred from future retail purchases or service appointments. Examples of this would include returning an unwanted product with the wrong contents, altering your cut or color on your own or by somebody else in an attempt to gain a free service, etc.

If I haven't heard from you by 9pm on the day of your missed appointment, 50% of your booked services will be charged to the card on file. In the event of a card not on file, this fee must be paid before your next appointment can be booked. In addition, a fee of 30% of your booked services will be charged if you cancel online less than 6 hours before your appointment.
Should you no-show on your first appointment, without a card on file, or 3 times I reserve the right to refuse future bookings to your account.
In the event of illness or if you feel you should be exempt from this charge, please call or text me at 224-801-4352 so we can discuss your options.
